Classic Album Sundays will present Joy Division's debut album "Unknown Pleasures" on Sunday, 6 May at The Hanbury Arms in London.
Join us at 5 pm for the musical lead-up which will include artists contemporary to Joy Division as well as inspirations like the Sex Pistols (Sumner and Hook had attended their gig a few years earlier). Please get their as early as you can.
At 7 pm the lights go down, the volume goes up and we play the album from beginning to end on vinyl on our audiophile hi-fi. The audio menu will include a Rega Apheta MC Cartridge, a Rega P9 Turntable, a Mark Levinson ML1 Preamp and Bowers & Wilkins 802 Diamond Loudspeakers. The Hanbury are kindly offering two-for-one pizzas to CAS attendees from their brick oven.
Doors close at 6:45 or when we reach full capacity and listening guidelines apply.
